Recitals with Rossen featuring Maja Bogdanovic and Daniel Rowland
Chautauqua Symphony Orchestra Music Director hosts Dutch–English violinist Daniel Rowland and Serbian–French cellist Maja Bogdanovic for this week’s Recitals with Rossen at 5 p.m. EDT Thursday, July 30, on the CHQ Assembly Video Platform. Bogdanovic and Rowland have performed all over Europe and the world, including engagements with the Princeton Symphony Orchestra Chamber Series and the Festival Artes Vertentes international festival of the arts in Tiradentes, Brazil. At 8:15 p.m. EDT Thursday, July 30, on the CHQ Assembly Video Platform, the Chautauqua Symphony Orchestra rebroadcasts its 2019 performance with the Music School Festival Orchestra, of Stravinsky’s “The Rite of Spring.”
School of Music violin master class with Ilya Kaler
At 3:30 p.m. EDT Thursday, July 30, on the CHQ Assembly Virtual Porch, the School of Music broadcasts a master class with Ilya Kaler, the only violinist in the world to win the Gold Medal at three of the world’s most prestigious international violin competitions: the Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow (1986), the Sibelius Competition in Helsinki (1985), and the Paganini Competition in Genoa (1981). Three Music School Festival Orchestra students will each perform a short work before a give-and-take discussion with Kaler.
Week Five Post-lecture Conversations on the Virtual Porch
