CHQDaily

Hirtle Callaghan & Co. is underwriting Larry P. Arnn’s morning lecture today in the Amphitheater.

“Chautauqua Institution is a leader in the country in regard to important topical dialogue in the United States,” said Peter Holway, principal and investment officer for Hirtle Callaghan. “We are thrilled to sponsor Dr. Arnn’s lecture. Dr. Arnn, president of Hillsdale College, has proven to be a skillful leader, and he and the team at Hillsdale have successfully navigated the challenging economic environment for higher-education institutions while being completely privately funded.”

Hirtle Callaghan is an investment firm that pioneered the “outsourced chief investment officer” industry and has underwritten programming at Chautauqua Institution for the past 13 years. The company serves as the chief investment officer for the Chautauqua Foundation, as well as numerous higher-education institutions around the country.

“We are absolute advocates and believers in the mission of Chautauqua and its new and bold strategic initiatives that will expand its national presence and reputation,” Holway said. “We have had a great collaborative relationship, and I think part of that collaboration is us supporting programs at Chautauqua.”

Arnn is the 12th president of Hillsdale College, where he also serves as a professor of politics and history, teaching courses on Aristotle, Winston Churchill and the American Constitution. He is the author of three books and is on the board of directors of the Heritage Foundation, the Henry Salvatori Center of Claremont McKenna College, the Intercollegiate Studies Institute and the Claremont Institute.
