Virtual Old First Night Run/Walk 

Sign up for the virtual “Around the World” Old First Night Run/Walk on Saturday, Aug. 1. Run or walk your own 2.75-mile race course and receive a race T-shirt. Proceeds benefit the Chautauqua Fund. To register for the race, please visit forms.chq.org/oldfirstnight.

Chautauqua Opera masterclass with Caitin Lynch

Chautauqua Opera Company holds its weekly morning master class with Guest Artist Caitlin Lynch at 10 a.m. EDT Wednesday, July 1, on the Virtual Porch. General and Artistic Director Steven Osgood hosts the event, which includes videos from Chautauqua Opera’s pre-recorded master class of the week featuring Lynch and four to five of the Chautauqua Opera Young Artists.

Smith Memorial Library 

The Smith Memorial Library is now loaning physical and digital materials, with an expanding selection of both. Patrons are invited to search, hold and download at smithlibrary.com, where updates on the library’s phased reopening can also be found.

Birkenstock enthusiast and lover of all things yellow, Cloey Olkowski is the office manager at the Daily. This will be Cloey’s fourth season at the Daily and 20th season at Chautauqua. A native of Buffalo, New York, she is a recent graduate of SUNY Oswego, where she majored in public relations with double minors in graphic design and psychology. Three seasons ago she placed second in the Old First Night Run/Walk and hopes to take home the virtual gold this season.
