The Briefly column will appear every weekday and on Saturdays at www.chqdaily.com. It is intended to provide space for announcements from Institution-related organizations. If a meeting or activity is featured that day in a story, it should not be repeated in the Briefly column. Submit information to Cloey Olkowski, editorial office manager, at daily@chq.org. Please provide the name of the organization, time and place of virtual event, and one contact person’s name with phone number. Deadline is 5 p.m. EDT three days before publication.

Post-Lecture Community Conversation Moderated by Howard Teibel
At 12:30 p.m. EDT on Tuesday, Aug. 4, on the CHQ Assembly Virtual Porch, join education consultant Howard Teibel for a community conversation on the week’s theme. As the founder of Teibel Education Consulting, for three decades, Teibel and his team have worked with higher education leaders to develop new habits and practices that shift how teams embody collaboration over cooperation. With the confluence of accelerating technology, external economic forces, demographic shifts and the questioning of the value of higher education, Teibel believes that the answer lives in learning to navigate building a culture of shared commitment, where academics, administrators and boards and students drive positive change.

Library Day
Join us in celebrating this year’s virtual Library Day. On Thursday, Aug. 6, watch Chautauqua Institution social media channels for ways to share your favorite book, and at smithlibrary.com, scroll down to “Join the Friends” with a gift-by-mail in any amount.

Direct any questions to friendsofthewriterscenter@gmail.com.
