The Mirror Project Conversation #2
At 5 p.m. EDT Friday, Aug. 28, on the CHQ Assembly Virtual Porch, Chautauqua Institution continues its conversations on The Mirror Project. Iyabo Onipede, facilitator at Leadership Matters and co-leader at Compassionate Atlanta, will facilitate a discussion about why it is necessary to talk about race and culture, and how The Mirror Project might evolve as we transition from introspection to community action. This event is presented by the African American Heritage House and Chautauqua Institution.

AA/Al-Anon Meeting
At 12:30 p.m. EDT on Sunday, Aug. 30, there will be virtual AA/Al-Anon meetings via Zoom. If you are interested in attending, please email judithlee@runbox.com for access.

Smith Memorial Library News
The Smith Memorial Library is now open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays, and from noon to 3 p.m. on Saturdays. Starting Monday, Aug. 31, hours will be noon to 6 p.m. on Mondays; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesdays and Fridays; and noon to 3 p.m. on Saturdays. Capacity is limited, face coverings are required, and social distancing rules apply. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult, and computers and office services are available on a limited basis. Enhanced sanitization and book-quarantine protocols are in place, and touchless browsing is encouraged. Safe return bins will be located throughout the Smith. Any transactions will be contact-free, and the preferred payment is exact change. While newspapers are currently unavailable, magazines may be checked out by request. In-person programs, meetings, and food and beverage sharing are not permitted. Remote services continue at www.smithlibrary.com and library@chq.org, or by calling 716-357-6296.

Birkenstock enthusiast and lover of all things yellow, Cloey Olkowski is the office manager at the Daily. This will be Cloey’s fourth season at the Daily and 20th season at Chautauqua. A native of Buffalo, New York, she is a recent graduate of SUNY Oswego, where she majored in public relations with double minors in graphic design and psychology. Three seasons ago she placed second in the Old First Night Run/Walk and hopes to take home the virtual gold this season.
