Tallman Tracker Organ Recital
Joshua Stafford, interim organist for Chautauqua Institution, gives a recital on the Tallman Tracker Organ in the Hall of Christ, broadcast at noon Wednesday, July 22, on the CHQ Assembly Video Platform immediately following the Chautauqua Lecture Series presentation of the day.

Chautauqua Opera Company Weekly Master Class
Chautauqua Opera Company General and Artistic Director Steve Osgood hosts a virtual watch party at 10 a.m. EDT Wednesday, July 22, on the CHQ Assembly Virtual Porch of the weekly master class. This week’s class features Guest Artist Alan Held.

School of Music Voice Master Class
The next School of Music voice master class will take place at 2 p.m. EDT Wednesday, July 22, on the CHQ Assembly Virtual Porch. The master class will be led by Susan Graham, world-renowned American mezzo-soprano, opera singer and actress.

Virtual Old First Night Run/Walk
Sign up for the virtual “Around the World” Old First Night Run/Walk on Saturday, Aug. 1. Run or walk your own 2.75-mile race course and receive a race T-shirt. Proceeds benefit the Chautauqua Fund. To register for the race, please visit forms.chq.org/oldfirstnight.

Robert Pinsky Favorite Poem Project
At 5 p.m. EDT Wednesday, July 29, via Zoom, selected Chautauquans will be given the chance to read their favorite published poem and briefly explain why it is their favorite. This event, sponsored by the Friends of the Chautauqua Writers’ Center, is modeled on the initiative introduced to Chautauqua by the former U.S. Poet Laureate Robert Pinsky. Birkenstock enthusiast and lover of all things yellow, Cloey Olkowski is the office manager at the Daily. This will be Cloey’s fourth season at the Daily and 20th season at Chautauqua. A native of Buffalo, New York, she is a recent graduate of SUNY Oswego, where she majored in public relations with double minors in graphic design and psychology. Three seasons ago she placed second in the Old First Night Run/Walk and hopes to take home the virtual gold this season.
