‘Fountain’ editor Hakan Yesilova to discuss Hizmet movement

Hakan Yesilova, editor of The Fountain magazine, will speak at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at the Baptist House on “Spirituality in the Age of Anxiety.”

In his talk, sponsored by the Friends of the Muslim Community at Chautauqua, Yesilova will address the traumas facing Muslims in exile from Turkey and those in Turkey who support the Hizmet movement. This movement is committed to critical thought and scientific inquiry.

Yesilova received his education in languages and political science. He has been a professional publisher since 1995. He organizes international conferences on themes explored in The Fountain such as peaceful coexistence, intercultural dialogue, media ethics and education.

The Fountain is published bi-monthly and seeks to provide “overarching coverage of the human life with content as rich and diverse as the human life itself,” according to its editorial policy.
